HEALTH & SAFETY
Assessing all the possible health and safety implications involved in a lift is crucial and is essential in protecting both your project and the safety of our team, as well as avoiding damage to property or the public.
We adhere to strict safety guidelines and have been repeatedly certified as ‘Worksafe Contractors’ by SMAS, who re-assess us annually to ensure we continue to meet the health and safety standards required for this certification.
We are full members of the C.P.A. and operate under their widely accepted terms and conditions of hire. We also employ the services of external Health and Safety Advisors, who assess our work and provide us with advice and information on all matters related to safety. All our personnel are fully qualified and have undertaken safety training as part of their qualifications.
A-Lift can offer you the option of crane hire either on CPA Crane Hire terms or on Contract Lift terms. The importance of health and safety means that it is crucial that all possible risks involved in a lift are considered and planned for. As a result, the majority of our customers require a Contract Lift but if you are not sure which is best for you, you might want to begin by considering the following:
- Have you got employees with recognised Appointed Person or slinger-signaller qualifications?
- Have you planned and managed a lift before?
- Do you know the weight/dimensions of the lift?
- Is there enough room for the crane to access/exit site?
- Is the area free of obstructions such as overhead cables, underground services or confined spaces?
If you answered no to any of these questions, a CPA Contract Lift may well be the best option for you. Greater detail on these two types of lift can be found on our Services page.
